December 2007
Membership is doing very well, but we still have 450 members who have not renewed for 2008.
Please try and do so before December 31st. There are extra costs in time and money after this date.
We have been recruiting well this year, thanks to you, the members (there is no reason to stop). So as I have said in the past “Just bring one”. A good solid membership makes for a good solid branch. As always if you have any concerns regarding membership please contact me. If you cannot make it to the branch, mail in your dues and we will mail your membership card to you.

October 2007
"Early Bird" has now started.
Pay your dues before November 15th and you could get a refund. If you pay before November 15th and also give us your email address, you could also get a refund. There will be 2 draws.
As with any organization we must recruit new members, so bring a friend or relative. Show them what we have to offer and sign them up.
Every year we lose about 40-45 members for various reasons. We are the only branch in our zone that has maintained our numbers, that keeps us strong and is something to be proud of.
Remember JUST BRING ONE. September started well with 11 new members - welcome to them all.
If you have questions or concerns about membership contact me or my assistant Mal Horner.
P.S. you can mail in your dues and we will return your card by mail.

September 2007
Our 2007 membership was not the best, we had 48 non-renewals. However we still did better than most branches in our zone and Ontario, something of which we can all be proud. The main way to keep our membership up and keep the branch solid, is for you the members to bring in your family and friends. “BRING THEM IN” show them what we have, Sports, Entertainment, Comradeship, and the opportunity to serve our veterans and the community. If we just bring one our membership problems will be solved and the branch will remain on a solid financial status. Dominion Command has told us the problems with years of service and problems you don’t see (I do) have been solved. I Hope So!! Our 2008 membership year will start in late September. Branch 36 will be going on line in the fall, and to this end we will be asking for your email address if you have one, when you renew, so that we may keep you more up to date on what is going on in the branch and the Legion. As an incentive two members who have given us their email before the end of November will have their dues refunded. Also three members who have paid before the end of November – “early birds”, will also have their dues refunded. Dues for 2008 will remain at $45.00. Your membership committee is made up of Marilyn Latchford, Sue Best and myself. I would like to welcome Mal Horner this year as my assistant. As always if there any concerns or questions please feel free to contact me. Mike Alkerton
September 2006
Once again this year the members responded well to renewals and the recruiting of new members THANK YOU !!. Our strength is in numbers and our membership is strong. At the recent Dominion Convention two things were passed which will affect us. The first is a resolution that was passed that the per capita dues increase by $4.50 ( I fought strongly against this). This coupled with a $1.90 at Provincial level last year is a increase of $6.40. We feel that we cannot hold the line at $40 so at the general meeting in September I will propose an increase to $45 for membership dues. The second thing that passed was that any member who is a Canadian citizen or Commonwealth subject will have full voting rights as of 1st October 2006. I hope to see you at the general meeting any questions or concerns contact me Mike Alkerton
April 2006
The membership picture looks pretty good. We have recruited well this year and most of the renewals came in. Thank you for your support, we may not reach 100% but we will be close. PLEASE NOTE ! ! ! Many new member and transfers have not received their cards, this is because the computer system in Ottowa has been changed and they can’t seem to get it up and running properly. At present we cannot do a change of address, status and we cannot transfer people. However if you want to do any of the preceding let us know and when things are fixed we will make the necessary changes at that time. Remember to
“JUST BRING ONE”
As always any concerns or questions please contact me.
As reported in the last Bullytin we thought we might have to increase dues. Although there will be a per capita increase at the June Dominion Convention we looked at the numbers a little closer and decided that the dues for 2006-2007 would remain at $40 (passed at the general meeting March 22)

!!!WHAT IS GOING ON!!!
As of writing about 100 members have not renewed for 2006 and our recruiting has not been as good as in other years. I would urge you to bring a friend or relative down to the Branch and show them what we have to offer. If you know someone who is Ex-service we would like to talk to that person. Remember Br36 Motto “Just Bring One”. New Members are new blood and new ideas, it’s very healthy for an organization in order to progress. There are a lot of “Affiliate non voting” members who can have their status changed to “voting” if they so wish and I would urge them to do so please see me. One thing I would like to mention here is that we have a proud Color Party who’s numbers are not as good as they should be. So if you are ex-service or non-service they would love to have you, and I am sure you would be proud to represent our Branch.
Questions???? Ask me or Jim Byron
As always any concerns, questions, change of address or name please let me know
